Hi. I'm Ivy.

I'm a NYC based art director and designer that's as obsessed with beauty as you are (if you're reading this).

The post about the things I can't stop wearing that also happen to be easy to wear, aka my... // CURRENT FAVES

These days there's a lot of running around, trying to do it all. Our once leisurely weekends winter weekends spent in front of the fire, are now jam packed with spring gardening and general outdoorsyness. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT complaining. Spring and Fall are my two favorite times of the year, and once they arrive I want them to last forever... But they never do. They are fleeting, and thus, the jam-packedness.

So gone with the winter means gone with my relaxed makeup routine. Whereas I was sitting down and spending a good 15-18 minutes at my vanity each morning, now I'm lucky if I get 5 minutes with a mirror in a non-moving vehicle. I've been inspired by Violette_FR, who always effortlessly pulls together the perfect makeup look no matter where she is, be it restaurant table, bar bathroom, back of a cab. I won't lie and say I've perfected the art of makeup on the go, but I have definitely improved my skills. Here's a quick run-down on some of my fave products as of late that have helped me look great whilst running out the door.

100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream
I am addicted to this stuff. It literally smells like a delicious latte every time I put it on, which is the best possible thing to smell upon waking up and going to bed. It's a cult product for lovers of 100% Pure, and with good reason. It's a light, yet super moisturizing eye cream, concentrated with anti-aging ingredients that also help guard against inflammation. I haven't experienced eye cream that gives terribly noticeable results right after use, but if you use it every day (twice a day), you will see the results over time. I apply this in the morning and at night after my moisturizer. One tube is still going strong after months of use, and I definitely intend to repurchase when it runs out. Even if you don't buy it, you really should find a store where you can smell it!

French Girl Cuticle Oil
This is a new lil' love, courtesy of my Petit Vour beauty box. All the gardening we've been doing recently has been MURDER on my nails. They've been breaking left and right, and forget about my cuticles... I've been working harder to strengthen them, but it ain't been easy. This roller ball of goodness has gone a long way to at least treating my cuticles with a little TLC. It smells amazing (I guess scent is important to me), and it's super easy to throw this in your bag and use throughout the day. French Girl Organics has quickly worked it's way onto my top companies list with their beautiful, cleanly packaged green products. A bonus fave of mine is their Lip Tint in Cerise.

Honest Beauty Truly Lush Mascara + Lash Primer
This is the first time I've used a mascara with a primer, and loved it. Typically I've looked at it as an annoying extra step not worth my time, but Honest Beauty has converted me. It's so good that I have actually stopped using my lash curlers... that's huge. I know that mascara is one of those products that is so personal to everyone depending on your lashes, but all I can say is this one really does the trick for me. 100% will be buying again.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Eye Pigments
I don’t know if I’m the only one, but eye pigments really scared me. They seemed terribly messy and inefficient compared to pressed shadows, so I could never really figure out the point. But then one day I was browsing Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and saw the most beautiful, vibrant, bright yellow staring back at me. I had just watched Lisa Eldridges’ video on how to wear yellow eye shadow, and suddenly, it just called out to me. I took advantage of their sale and picked up 4 pigments in bright yellow, cobalt blue, pure white, and an iridescent coral pink. First off, they are all STUNNING. The impact and depth of color is unreal. That said, you can still apply with a really light hand for a much more subtle effect if desired. And TBH, they’re not really messy at all (unless you drop them). So, I regret all my previous ill will towards pigments. I knew not that of which I spoke.

Kani Galaxy Milk Illuminating Beauty Oil
This is another new addiction thanks to my Petit Vour box (that Teri Miyahira knows what she’s talking about). I received a sample size, but believe me when I say, a little goes a long way. It’s a fairly shimmery highlight, that will get noticed. It looks white-ish in the bottle, but really it’s more of an opalescent golden glow. It is unique in that it’s a liquid oil, not a powder or cream. It comes with a little dropper that you can use to dot directly on your face, or onto your fingers. I’ve been using it on the tops of cheekbones and the inner corners of my eyes. Between the texture and the payoff, I feel like it’s the perfect summer highlight. I’m still all about that Living Luminizer from RMS, but when I want to look even more LIT, this has become my go-to.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip & Cheek Tint
I was super psyched to receive this product through Sagekat and wrote all about how I’ve been using it on their blog. The more I apply, the more I fall in love. It was one of the first products I started using after dying my hair. I keep reaching for it, and being so happy to find it in my makeup bag. Because it doubles for lips and cheeks, it’s a super fast way to inject color that feels cohesive. Plus it’s moisturizing (but not sticky), so I don’t have to worry about streaks or dryness. It brings the fire, and fast!

I hope perhaps one (or a few) of these products might make their way into your hands this spring/summer. Be sure to let me know if they do!
